Benefits of Dry Brushing in Your Life

Have you ever wanted to revitalize and show new healthy glowing skin? Dry Brushing is a way to exfoliate dead and damaged skin to show healthy refreshed skin with a simple routine that helps will help your body inside and out. Just remember these simple steps always brush towards your heart. If you are starting below your heart i.e. starting from your toes or foot brush up your leg in long linear strokes, stomach/torso uses small circular motions and stops at the heart, if above the heart start from the head or neck and brush down with long linear strokes. With your arms start at your finders and use long liner strokes towards your neck underarm and shoulder. Make sure you are using a hygienic dry brush meant for either face or body and never get your brush wet*
Replace every three months unless you dry brush every day, if so then you should replace or clean* the brush on a more frequent basis.
The benefits of dry brushing are both internal and external. Let’s start with the external since we see and feel that part first. As you move across your body with the dry brush you may see bristle marks on your skin after the first couple of passes. This gentle exfoliation helps your dead skin and dirt on the top layer of your skin being removed. After showering you will notice softer cleaner feeling skin that naturally glows. Exfoliation of the skin also aids in the decrease of ingrown hairs. How to clean dry brush:

  • Fill a bowl with warm water. Ensure that no water is touching the wood only covering the bristles.
  • Add three drops of tea tree oil (anti-fungal antibacterial antiviral)
  • Place the brush, and bristles down in the bowl
  • Agitate the brush around, dislodging dead cells and dirt in the bristles.
  • Let it soak for 5-10 minutes then rinse with clean water, agitating the bristles to remove all tea tree oil.
  • Shake the brush then place it on a dry towel, bristles down to absorb excess water for a few minutes, then air dry away from the sun.
